What Is Patrol Z?

The Summit Bechtel Reserve Is Just The Latest Chapter In The Incredible Story Of Scouting

Patrol Z is a corps of Scout and Venturer reporters formed by the Boy Scouts America’s National Council in tandem with the creation of the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. In this age of accessible and powerful digital media, Scouts and Venturers have an opportunity to share their incredible stories — by youth, and for youth.

That’s where Patrol Z comes in.

This unique group of media-savvy youth are committed to sharing your stories with the rest of America, by capturing the adventure and excellence of Scouting in their region, as well as the excitement taking shape at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. Many Scouts and Venturers from across the country applied for the Patrol Z initiative. The corps of reporters includes award-winning videographers, photographers, writers, web developers and social media experts.

Many applicants still participate as Patrol Z Ambassadors, an important focus group and messengers for the Summit. These Scouts and Venturers currently make up the reporter corps of Patrol Z:

Patrick B., Southeast Louisiana Council
Alex C., South Texas Council
Carl C., Occoneechee Council

Kevin M., Revolutionary Trails Council
JP M., Miami Valley Council
Connor M., Rip Van Winkle Council
