If you’re an adrenaline junkie and can handle zooming through trees at high rates of speed, you have to check out the zip lines being built out at the Summit.

Staff members of the Summit and national Scout jamboree officials have already tested out some zip lines around the New River Gorge area, and the surrounding mountains are proving to be an awesome place for zip line trips.

“It was one of the most exhilarating things you can imagine,” said Mike Patrick, the general manager of the Summit.

With several zips and suspension bridges, all of them in the forest canopy, zipping at the Summit is going to be pretty amazing. And Bonsai Design, the company in charge of designing the zip lines at the Summit, is a world-renown builder of zip courses.

As for the Summit’s course, Scouts won’t come out of the trees for nearly two hours once they start. “It’s just an unbelievable thing we’re going to give Scouts,” said Larry Pritchard, 2013 jamboree director.

And these Scouting officials know what it will be like for every Scout who tries out a zip line. From learning to self-rescue to actually zipping from tree to tree, these guys had an exciting day testing out one of the coolest activities around.
