The Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base

Welcome to the Summit Bechtel Reserve, 10,000-plus acres in southern West Virginia that is home to the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base and new permanent home of the National Scout Jamboree.

The 2013 National Scout Jamboree was the grand opening of the Summit and 2014 marks the first time high adventure programming will be available to Scouts and Venturers.

Register your crew early to increase the chances of getting the days you want.

Each program format is all about immersing you in the full Summit experience. That includes visiting the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base at the Summit. And while you’re at it, throw in overnighting at outpost camps at the Summit or in the New River Gorge area.

The Summit will provide all food, tents, cots, and program equipment. Crews will provide sleeping bags and other personal gear.
